PATIENCE is a virtue, my dear. If you didn’t already know, applying lash extensions takes a lot of patience. It is arguably one of the most meticulous careers out there! Every single natural lash gets a lash extension. You’re going to need patience as you watch your masterpiece unfold! You’ll also need strong, steady hands and great eyesight. If you check off all of these boxes, then we encourage you to continue with your interest in lashing!
Along with patience, comes practice. With any new skill, it might be hard at first. There’s a learning curve, know that going in! This is mostly applicable to time. It will most likely take you several hours to create a full set for a while, and that’s okay! The more you practice, the more confidence you’ll build, and the quicker your hands will naturally get. So, if you can give yourself a little grace at the beginning, then you may have found your new career!
Lastly, you’re allowed (and even encouraged) to be a perfectionist as a lash artist. In fact, perfection IS the goal when your clients walk out the door. Lash extensions are something your clients view as a luxury and an investment. They’ll work with you as you’re still perfecting your new craft. Most clients understand that it is not a quick process and that you may be taking longer because you want them perfect. Lash extensions are not a career path you should choose if you’re lazy, that’s for sure!
