So you’ve decided to make lashing your career? Congrats, girl, and welcome to the industry! We are very passionate about what we do here, and we work hard. But we love every second of it, and it definitely pays off! Let’s talk about getting started with your lash business. We’ll give you some tips on how to get the most out of this fabulous career!
The first tip is possibly the most important. Three simple words. INVEST IN YOURSELF. Do not rob yourself of a top-notch education. You deserve the best there is to offer. Consider enrolling with us! Our curriculum is always evolving and expanding. Our instructors have many years of real-life experience. Our CEO began lashing right when lash extensions became popular. We even have our own line of professional products! If you enroll in our training program, you will learn about proper sanitation, client medical and allergy analysis, the anatomy of the eye, client consultation, proper lash maintenance, hair growth cycles, how to conduct a patch test, lash extension removal, choosing the correct products, adhesives and focusing on isolation. You’ll lash real people, not just mannequins. And if you feel the need to come back for more training, we offer a FREE refresher class! A quality education is the foundation of your future career, don’t put it on the backburner.
Next, work on your Instagram. Use this free resource to market yourself! Ask your friends and family to follow and promote your new account. You can even invest some money into ads if you really want to get yourself out there. Work on your iPhone photography skills and make your page aesthetically pleasing. Post before and after photos, informational graphics, and client reviews! You could even offer a small discount or a free add-on if your clients post photos of their lashes and tag your page on their Instagram.
Speaking of discounts, that’s one way to get people in the door! You could offer monthly specials on certain services, birthday discounts, or have holiday promotions like Mother’s Day. You could also come up with a loyalty program that provides a discount after your client has visited a certain number of times. Word-of-mouth marketing is also a huge part of growing your clientele. Treat your customers to a service and experience they enjoy and they’ll talk about you! You could extend referral discounts when someone books a service through one of your previous clients! But at the end of the day, it’s your business and you can decide whatever works best for you!
These are just a few tips that will help you grow your clientele. If you do quality work, have an online presence, and get people in the door with discounts and promotions, you’ll have a growing lash business before you know it! If you are thinking about taking the first step as a lash artist, check out our website and consider enrolling in our next training class! We’d love to have you!!
